Analog Systems
Analog cameras turn the video signal into a format that can be received by a television or other receiver such as a VCR or monitor. Traditional analog surveillance systems consist of analog cameras, time-lapse VCR’s and monitors. Analog systems have been the basis for surveillance and monitoring for many years.
The benefits of using an analog system are that it is a lower cost solution and there is greater flexibility of design. This type of system also has superior compatibility and is much easier to mix and match cameras and brands. This flexibility allows the client to utilize existing camera equipment should they wish to incorporate it into the surveillance system.
Expected results from an analog system are an accurate account of events with high quality image and sound reproduction. Analog systems provide a base level of functionality to monitor large areas from a central location without the need to maintain a personal presence. Essentially, the client can eliminate the need to have more personnel to monitor their security needs, which results in reduction of costs overall and less chance of human error.
Today’s world necessitates the use of surveillance systems to safeguard the public, protect assets and guard against theft and fraud. Many people are unsure about which type of security system would work best for them. Analog systems are tried and tested and have proven longevity since they have been around for a number of years, so the client will be aware of what they can anticipate from this type of system. The next phase from analog is digital and IP systems.
